Why Golf in Myoko?

Myoko sits in Japan’s alpine region, surrounded by mountains, hot springs, and a collection of scenic golf courses — all without the crowds found in major resort hubs.

This is Japan as it used to be — calm, welcoming, and deeply memorable.

Golf Courses

Golf in the Myoko region is all about variety, scenery, and a relaxed pace. With multiple mountain and parkland courses within easy driving distance of our lodge, we rotate venues throughout the week to match conditions, secure the best tee times, and keep every round fresh. Expect quiet fairways, cool alpine air, and unforgettable views — without the crowds found at Japan’s major resort destinations.

Golf Courses You’ll Play

All rounds are played within the wider Myoko / Joetsu alpine region. Courses are selected from the following list based on weather, availability, and group preference. You’ll play 5 rounds total.

Core Courses

Myoko Country Club

The closest course to our base in Sekiyama. A classic parkland layout set at the foot of Mt. Myoko, offering generous fairways, a relaxed pace of play, and an ideal opening or closing round for the trip.

Myoko Kogen Golf Club

A highland course located in the Myoko Kogen area, known for cooler temperatures and beautiful alpine scenery. A guest favourite that delivers true mountain golf without being overly demanding.

Akakura Golf Course

Set near the famous Akakura Ski area, this course offers rolling terrain and strategic hole design framed by surrounding peaks. A standout round with distinct character.

APA Resort Joetsu Myoko  Forest Golf Course

A resort-style course with excellent facilities and consistent conditioning. Offers variety in hole design and is well suited for replay rounds or mid-week golf.

Optional Mix‑In Courses

Myoko Sunshine Golf Club

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Myoko highlands, Myoko Sunshine Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course that combines natural beauty with strategic challenge — perfect for visitors seeking a rewarding round in a scenic Japanese golf destination.

Madarao Tokyu Golf Club

A premium scenic option near the Madarao highlands. Offers a slightly more resort‑style experience with expansive views and a polished clubhouse — often used as a highlight round.
